One Sunday afternoon, back in 1970, I heard a jazz piano player at my college concert hall practicing.  He was playing the most cool voicings I had ever heard.  I ran to the stage and begged him to show me what he was doing.  He stopped his practice session and spent an hour showing me how to play those keyboard voicings.  That was the beginning of the Changes story. 

From that day forward I was consumed with the desire to study every element of Jazz theory until I understood it well enough to share it with every other aspiring Jazz player that wanted to learn.  The guy on the stage that day had taken the time to share what he knew with me and I have devoted myself to sharing it with you.

These applications are written with the Jazz student in mind and are freely available.  If you find it useful and want to make a shareware contribution to help defray the cost of distributing this information for free to the entire world, please feel free to donate.  It’s already in use in almost every country in the world and as long as I’m living it will be available without commercial constraints.  I worked in publishing for Hal Leonard Publishing and Jenson Publications for many years and I’m well aware of the copyright law and . . . I do realize that what I’m doing; flies in the face of conventional business wisdom, but I was once told by Jamey Aebersold that you can’t outgive people.  I have lived by that philosophy since that day.
